Two Great Native Plant Sales in Essex County (1/2 postponed, read post)
May 21, 2023 @ 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
There are two great native plant sales in Essex County in Northern New Jersey this weekend. Toadshade Wildflower Farm will be selling plants at the Glen Ridge Eco-Fair from 10-5 on the raindate of May 21. Toadshade Wildflower Farm is one of NJ’s premier native nurseries and is headed by Dr. Randi Eckel, the President of NPSNJ. You can browse Toadshade’s bountiful selection at the sale OR you can preorder in advance at www.toadshade.com until Thursday, 5/18, 5 pm by choosing the pick up option at checkout and choosing Glen Ridge Eco Fair May 20 as your pick up location. The Essex Chapter will be staffing an information table to answer all of your native gardening questions! The second plant sale features “Farmer John” Ostering (who you may remember from Morgan’s Farm) who will be selling a variety of Native Perennials on Saturday, May 20 and Sunday, May 21, 8 – 4, at the Van Ness House, 236 Little Falls Road, Fairfield.
Lots of shrubs, native perennials, and of course, milkweeds!
Pro tip: bring a box to carry your plants home!
