Is the credit card information secure? You are a volunteer-led organization, right?
We are indeed a volunteer-run organization but we take your security seriously. We don't see or store your credit card information. It is encrypted and sent straight to the Stripe credit card processing site, which is used by millions of companies such as Amazon, Instacart, Lyft, Zoom, and Google. Stripe has a history of being safe.
I got a blank screen when I tried to do something or couldn't click on a link.
Most likely this is a problem with your device. Many modern browsers (such as Safari on the Mac OS) now have a "feature" that simply gives a blank screen or doesn't allow you to click on a link when they are low on memory instead of showing you an error that would make you realize that the fault is the device or browsers. Wait a minute. If it still doesn't work, try to refresh it. You can always write if you get a duplicate transaction and we will take care of it for you.
How long are memberships in NPSNJ for? Is there any point in registering in the summer or fall?
Memberships in NPSNJ are 365 days long. Members who registered between October 1 and December 31, 2022 will automatically have their memberships extended until January 1, 2024.
All memberships after January 1, 2023 will be 365 days long so if you joined in September 2023, your membership will last until September 2024.
How can I find out when my membership expires?
Click on the Membership menu and then on the link that says login (if there is no login but there is a logout, ignore this step). Go to “My Membership Information”. You will see the status of your membership there.

Can I buy a gift membership?
Why yes, you can buy a gift membership. Fill out either the individual or student membership application at https://npsnj.org/membership/. If you want to give a gift membership to a non-profit or corporation, send a note to
Fill in YOUR information, not the recipient's information (if you are already a member, and you probably are and it is prior to 9/2/2023, please contact so that we can get your membership account up first.
Right above the credit card field, you will see a checkbox that says "gift membership." Check that and when your credit card information is processed, a dialogue will appear for you to input the recipient's name, email, and a note. You friend will be sent a coupon that they can redeem.
Can I deduct my donation on my taxes if I itemize?
The NPSNJ is classified by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization and all contributions are tax-deductible in full.
Why do I need a username?
E-mails come and go. Unique usernames allow you to change your e-mails. You can change your e-mail from your profile page if you are logged in.
Can I change my username?
No and yes. No, you cannot. You can, however, log in to the site using your e-mail. If you change your e-mail you can log in with your new e-mail.
Yes, we can change it for you. If you would a different username, e-mail We will change your username once per year (or if there is a very good reason we can change it twice in a year).
