Tour Cider Mill Grassland, a Sanctuary for Imperiled Grassland species

The 89-acre Cider Mill Grassland Preserve is part of the NJ Natural Heritage Program’s designated Amwell Valley Grassland Macrosite that totals approximately 1,600 acres.

A prime example of agricultural grasslands,this sweeping complex is critical for grassland birds and is a high priority for protection. Hayfields that were traditionally harvested late in the season are mowed earlier and more frequently during the growing season avoiding impacts to nesting birds.

Meet at the Parking area on Cider Mill Road, Flemington.

To get to the meeting area, turn south on Cider Mill Road in East Amwell Twp. Go past house number 121 Cider Mill Rd and the parking area and meadow will be in front of you. Helen Grundmann will be leading the walk.
