Glenn By The Bay Pollinator Garden Talk & Field Trip

Come join us for a field trip exploring the forest, fields, meadows, and the restoration efforts at Glenn By The Bay, a beautiful and historic area within Veterans Memorial Park on Route 9 in Galloway.  Go Green Galloway and partners have been working there to remove invasives and to install a rich assortment of native plants. This on-going project is well worth a visit. 

First, Jesse will guide us through the fenced-in pollinator gardens. She will cover the steps needed to create these two areas (on a former turf-grass area). She will also provide an overview of the perennial and shrub choices, installation techniques, and the maintenance regime going forward. These are all methods you can apply in your own landscape.

Next, Steve will take those interested on a walk through the meadows and forest. He will tell us about the history of the property, the diversity of the plants there, and the efforts done so far to remove invasives in these natural areas.
