A CELEBRATION OF NATURE POETRY and NATIVE PLANTS

April 10 @ 7:00 pm 8:30 pm

In celebration of National Poetry Month and Earth Day, come for an evening of poetry and rich conversation that will highlight Leaning Toward Light: Poems for Gardens & the Hands That Tend Them, a new anthology of rich contemporary gardening poems edited by acclaimed writer and poetry critic Tess Taylor.  The Washington Post calls it “lush,” and the Boston Globe hails it as “hopeful.” The collection features work by contemporary luminaries Ross Gay, Ada Limón, Jericho Brown, Robert Hass, Mark Doty, Jane Hirshfield, and more. Tess Taylor– herself a celebrated poet, the poetry columnist for CNN, and a lifelong gardener, will be joined in conversation by The WildStory’s co-host Ann E. Wallace—who will read a few early selections from her forthcoming book Days of Grace And Silence. The program will also feature practical tips from native plant expert Dr. Randi Eckel in a highly anticipated, first live Q & A session of Ask Randi. A reception and book signing will follow.

Copies of Leaning Toward Light will be available for sale through The Nature of Reading Bookshop. This event is brought to you by Montclair State University, NPSNJ The WildStory, The Nature of Reading Bookshop and The Museum of Early Trades & Crafts. It is free and open to the public. Space is limited so registration is required.
