Mt. Cuba Bus Trip – This trip is limited to 45 participants, so please register early!

Join us for a wonderful day at Mt. Cuba Center in Hockessin, Delaware. https://mtcubacenter.org/ Mt. Cuba is a beautiful botanic garden committed to the conservation of native plants and their habitats. We are visiting at a time when we expect to see many native spring ephemerals along the garden trails. The trip will go rain or shine so please dress for the weather. 

The trip cost includes:

• Bus trip in a comfortable air-conditioned bus
• Admission to Mt. Cuba Center
• Box lunch and bottle of water
• Reserved outdoor picnic tables, with space reserved indoors in case of rain
• Two-hour Garden Enthusiast walking tour
• Expert presentation on native ground covers
• You must be a member of NPSNJ to register for this event.

Itinerary

• 7:45 a.m. Meet at the park-and-ride parking lot at the south end of the Judy Blume Service Area, which is at milepost 100 (between exits 98 and 100) on the Garden State Parkway. This parking lot can also be accessed directly from Belmar Boulevard. When traveling east on Belmar Boulevard from Route 34, the parking area will be on the left, immediately after the Parkway overpass.
• 8:00 a.m. Bus leaves at exactly 8:00 a.m.  Please don’t be late…we will not be able to hold the bus for you. 
• 10:00 a.m.  Arrival at Mt Cuba Center
• 10:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Guided Garden Enthusiast Tour (We will be divided into small groups of ~15 per Educator. Groups may stagger their start times slightly to give space within the gardens)
• 12:45-1:45 p.m. Boxed Lunches at reserved picnic tables (indoor space will be made available in the case of inclement weather)
• 2:00-3:00 p.m. Native Groundcovers presentation in Copeland House with Leah Brooks
• 3:30 p.m. Bus departs Mt. Cuba Center
• 5:30 p.m. Bus arrives back at Judy Blume Rest Stop.
