Monmouth County Native Plant Lecture and Exchange

Attend a free native plant presentation by NPSNJ Monmouth’s own Ann Sherwood and exchange native plants from your garden with others.

8:00 – 10:00 Drop off native plants for the plant exchange. Only plants native to the mid-Atlantic region of the US will be accepted. Bring established plants in 4″, 1 quart, or 1-2 gallon pots for exchange with like sizes. Label all plants. Houseplants may be exchanged and do not need to be native. Each participating household will receive one free native plant (while supplies last). Visit the Deep Cut Gardens website for a list of acceptable species.

9:15 – 10:15 Native plant presentation by Ann Sherwood in the Gardener’s Cottage. This presentation discusses the beauty and utility of native plants. Call 732-671-6050 to register (required).

10:15 – 11:00 Choose your native plants based on the number and sizes you dropped off.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

If you would like to volunteer to help at the native plant exchange, you must be officially signed up as a Monmouth County Parks volunteer. It’s pretty simple. Create a volunteer Cervistech account at this page:

After creating your account (or if you already have an account), go to:

There are 10 spots at the Cervistech signup spot, first come, first serve. The time is from 7:45 to 11:00.
