Teaching about mushrooms starts with some very basic ideas that we build on throughout the talk. We will cover “simple” ideas like what is a mushroom, and continuing to identification characteristics of mushrooms.

Naturally, we will turn our focus to what mushrooms you can find right here in Hunterdon County and how to identify them. We also like to include classic homeopathic medicinal practices using mushrooms and their benefits to your health. As we progress deeper we will discuss ideas of mycorrhizae, how fungi interact with their environment, and the larger impact they have in an ecosystem as a major kingdom. Jeffrey and Kacy will have mushrooms for sale at the meeting
