Hudson Chapter Spring Plant Sale
June 11, 2022 @ 10:00 am – 3:00 pm
This will be a whopping opportunity to purchase native plants and shrubs from WELL SWEEP HERB FARM. Owner David Hyde has one of the largest collections of herbs and perennials in the country. They will bring a diverse selection of beautiful, wildlife-friendly native plants. Also available will be fresh veggie seedlings, herbs, and a selection of house plants.
10:30am – Enjoy a birdwatching stroll around the nature trail with Jersey City Birds and be first to pick up a JC Birds t-shirt.
11:30am – Explore Lincoln Park West pond and learn about plans for its restoration with the co-leaders of the Hudson Chapter and special guests John and Susan Landau. They will talk with us about invasive species and how they restored and transformed Foote’s Pond Wood and made it a hugely successful community project.
Throughout the day Jillian Sherman will join us to demonstrate the life cycle of both the Swallowtail and Monarch butterflies. She will bring along coloring pages for kids and brochures for those who want to learn more about attracting and raising butterflies.
Spend the day and bring a blanket and a picnic lunch!
