Home Garden Tour in Brick
July 15 @ 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
Join us on Saturday, July 15 at 10am for a garden tour at Kelly and Peter Balon’s home in Brick. We toured their garden last summer and since then they have added some new gardens and hardscape areas they would love to show off! The duo continue to replace lawn with gardens and have added even more species of native trees, shrubs, and perennials to the landscape. Please wear sunscreen and a hat. It was a hot day last year and we anticipate the same this summer!
Please RSVP, so we can provide you with the address, directions, and so we know to expect you: .
Kelly works as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst by day and by evenings and weekends, she is an aspiring landscape designer and avid wildlife habitat restorer. As many of us were, Kelly was introduced to the world of native plants and their importance by one of the environments’ contemporary heroes, Doug Tallamy. Luckily, this introduction happened only a year into her first homeownership and it shows! Kelly and her husband, Peter, have planted over 140 native (to NJ and a few stretches from nearby areas) species on their .6 acre property in northern Brick. She loves teaching others about native plants, their value, how to incorporate a variety of habitats into the landscape, and of course, getting her hands dirty!
