Native Plant Fall Celebration! Learn how to sow native seeds, buy plants and seeds, and explore the lovely Cora Hartshorn Arboretum.

SEED STARTING DEMONSTRATIONS – Learn how to grow perennial plants from seeds! We’ll explain stratification, scarification, winter sowing, and how to grow seedlings without a greenhouse or expensive equipment. 20 min demos at 10:15, 11:15, 12:15, 1:15.
Kids’ Art Activity – Kids can enjoy making nature-themed bookmarks of their own design – bugs, trees, flowers, or whatever their imagination creates!
Explore the Arboretum! The 16 acres of the Cora Hartshorn Arboretum, www.hartshornarboretum.org, is a native plant oasis in Essex County! Containing over 40 species of trees and a wide variety of native shrubs, flowers, and ferns, it has several easy hiking trails for fun walks.
