Native Plants and Their Cultivars: Don’t Get Lost in the Weeds

March 27, 2023 @ 6:30 pm 8:00 pm

Many of us who garden with native plants feel a sense of urgency to create spaces that fully support wildlife. At the same time, deciding what is truly native to our yards and sourcing those plants can be overwhelming. Moreover, catalogs and garden centers offer a dizzying array of cultivars of native species and far fewer natives grown in the wild. By discussing what is known about various categories of natives, we hope this presentation will make your choices easier!

Presented by Ann Sherwood.

Ann is a member of the NJ Native Plant Society and a retired biologist and science writer. She loves to share her enthusiastic appreciation for ways plants and animals (including humans) have evolved to solve existential problems through interdependent mechanisms.

The Middletown Township Public Library provides meeting space as a community service. The Library neither sponsors nor endorses this event, the speaker(s) or the organization.
