Volunteer to Plant Trees

As you have heard, we have been awarded a grant through American Water Charitable Foundation to reforest a site along the Royce Brook (a branch of the Raritan River) in Manville, NJ.
Our 130 native trees have been ordered and we are working with the town of Manville to make it all happen on Planting Day, Saturday, October 18th.
Volunteers will work in pairs to help plant the 130 native trees in this area that is prone to flooding in severe storm situations. Instructions will be demonstrated at the beginning of each work session, and assistance offered during planting.

What: Tasks may can include the following:
- Using wheel barrels, transport potted trees from the periphery to their locations on the site
- Remove trees from their pots, place in prepared holes, fill in with soil, and water the planted trees
- Cage the trees using rigid plastic mesh
Where: Near Memorial Park, 1608 Colorado Ave, Manville
When: Saturday, October 18th
- Shifts are 9am-12pm, and 1-4pm
- All volunteers will need to sign a liability waiver prior to beginning work
- Ages 18+ only, please
- Volunteers will work in pairs
Items to bring:
- Gardening gloves
- Drinking water
- Snack, if desired
