Spring Ephemeral Hike with Cam Kanterman

Join the Bergen-Passaic chapter for a walk along the Manor trail to Sally’s Pond where we hope to view native spring ephemerals. The walk will be led by
Cameron Kanterman, a New Jersey native who has dedicated his career to the ecological restoration of the native plant communities and management of invasive species through sustainable land stewardship.

We will hike along a short, easy loop trail (2.8 miles), above Ringwood Manor. Trail follows a mix of gravel road and a single-track path.
Wear hiking shoes, boots or sturdy running shoes.

Advance registration is required: email bergenpassaic@npsnj.org to register.

Location for GPS: Ringwood Manor, 1304 Sloatsburg Road, Ringwood, NJ 07456. Meet at the Ringwood Manor Parking lot by 9:45 AM.

Facilities: Public restrooms at the Ringwood Manor section of Ringwood State Park are closed as part of an ongoing historic restoration project. Temporary portable restrooms will be available in the parking area.

Trail Description: 2.8 miles, easy loop trail above Ringwood Manor. Trail follows a mix of gravel road and single-track path past Sally’s Pond and a colonial-era cemetery and then loops through the forested hillside above Ringwood Manor.

Footwear: Wear hiking shoes, boots, or sturdy running shoes. Sandals, high heels, and similar footwear are not suitable.

Accessibility: Please note that the trail does not accommodate wheelchairs or strollers.
