Southwest Chapter Seed Saving Workshop

October 13, 2025 @ 6:30 pm 8:30 pm

Hi everyone, well we were able to squeeze in a seed cleaning and saving workshop before end of season. Some of you may have been collecting as the season went on, and others may not have started. We are offering an informal workshop to learn together about cleaning seeds, preparing them for winter sowing, and winter sowing perennials for your 2026 native plant garden.

Lucy Hooper will lead a brief discussion on the preparations for winter sowing. She has years of experience and will share the many successful methods she has used to fill her garden as well as the Mickleton Pollinator Garden. Shirley Bailey has started a seed library at the main Marlton Library. She will share where they are in the process of creating and filling the library with native plant seeds.

At the end of the workshop we can seed swap. So we hope everyone will bring seeds to share with others. Please focus on native plant seeds only. Bring them in paper bags or other containers you have that have kept them fresh and air drying.

We hope you can join us at the Camden County Sustainability Campus. Bring friends and non-members who you think would enjoy learning about seeds, saving them and sowing for spring 2026.
