Prescribed Burning
April 20 @ 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm
By Tina Notas Land Conservation Administrator D&R Greenway Land Trust

Fire is a stewardship tool used by organizations to manage and improve habitat for native plants and animals, reduce thatch from years of mowing, and enrich soil nutrient availability.
Join a presentation to learn about how prescribed fire was used at the Cider Mill Grassland Preserve to improve habitat for imperiled grassland species including bobolinks and grasshopper sparrows.
The 90-acre Cider Mill Grassland Preserve is part of the NJ Natural Heritage Program’s designated “Amwell Valley Grassland Macrosite” which totals approximately 1,593 acres and is considered a prime example of agricultural grasslands in New Jersey.

Everyone is invited – you do not have to be a Hunterdon resident.
The program is free.
RSVP hunterdon@npsnj.org, if you plan to attend.
