Notes On Historically Important NJ Native Trees And The Peoples Of North America with Hubert Ling, PhD.

March 18 @ 7:00 pm 8:30 pm

Trees have always been important to everyone in the world.  They provide much of the oxygen we breathe, provide lumber, fuel, food and shelter for animals and people alike.

We will specifically discuss several important NJ native trees which have shaped the lives of Native Peoples and Colonials, and still impact our lives today.

View a Native NJ dwelling from the 1600’s (in reproduction); learn about the “perfect tree” which is alas almost extinct; learn how Eastern North American Natives “ground corn”; view “A First Nation gift to the world that made the present possible!”;  learn more about Native American agriculture, and see the tree which helped start the Revolutionary War.
