NJ Native Plant Society and NJ Butterfly Club Field Trip

Kittatinny Valley State Park
We will traverse mature upland deciduous forest, upland successional fields, and some emergent/shrub wetlands observing many species of native vegetation and contrasting them with alien invasive species. We will also see many species of butterflies including swallowtails, fritillaries, satyrs, hairstreaks, and, if we are lucky, the striking Baltimore Checkerspot and Endangered Northern Metalmark.
Easy to moderate walking on paved and gravel roads. Meet at 9:30 at the large dirt parking lot on Goodale Road on your right as you enter the park.
