Native Plant Nature Walk on the Forsythe deCamp Wildlife Trail

April 13, 2025 @ 1:00 pm 2:30 pm

Join the Jersey Shore chapter on Sunday, April 13, at 1:00 pm at Edwin B. Forsythe deCamp Wildlife Trail, for a walk in the woods. We’ll explore the bark, buds and blooms of native plants as we observe spring’s awakening. We’ll listen for the buzzing of bees and chorus of birds as the season begins to unfold. Our guide, Chris Claus, Chief Naturalist with Ocean County Parks and Recreation, will point out and identify native trees, shrubs and wildflowers, as well as local wildlife.

Meet in the parking lot of Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge, deCamp Wildlife Trail, 365 Mantoloking Road, Brick, NJ 08723 at 1:00 pm for a 1 to 2 hour walk. Wear comfortable walking shoes for an easy trail walk through mixed pine-oak forest. Dress appropriately for the weather. Bring water and binoculars if you have them. For more information about the location, see this Map of the deCamp Wildlife Trail.

Please register for this event so we know how many to expect and can contact you with additional information.
