Native Garden Tour in Manchester
(RESCHEDULED FROM JULY 13th)
Tour Phyllis’s wildlife haven decorated with garden art!
July 20, 2024 @ 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
Join us for a tour of Phyllis Delesandro’s extensive native plant gardens in Manchester. Phyllis has created a wildlife haven in her yard, tucked into a little neighborhood in Manchester not far from bustling Route 70. She has also artfully placed repurposed treasures within her native gardens, which are connected by winding pathways throughout the property.
Phyllis grows a variety of native plants that support butterflies, moths, bees, wasps, beetles, and other beneficial insects. In her well-certified yard, you will see native plants thriving in a range of growing conditions. They include moisture lovers such as Buttonbush (Cephalanthus occidentalis), Cardinal flower (Lobelia cardinalis), Duck potato (Sagittaria latifolia), and Swamp milkweed (Asclepias incarnata), as well as drought-tolerant natives like Prickly pear (Opuntia humifusa), and everything in between!
You will get a behind-the-scenes look at her propagating station where she pots native plants to inspire others to create native plant habitats. Phyllis will also have some native plants available for purchase at the end of the tour.
This is an event you will not want to miss! Join us for a tour of this unique display of native plants, known as “My Magik Garden” on social media.
Please RSVP so we can provide you with the address, directions, and know how many to expect.
