Native Carniverous Plant Workshop:
Plant Your Own Carnivorous Container

Cost: $50 to cover the cost of plants (1 native pitcher plant and 1 native sundew) and potting material.

Learn about New Jersey’s native carnivorous plants, where they live, and how to plant and care for them. Monmouth County Park Naturalist Blake Beyer will lead a hands-on workshop, demonstrating how to create a suitable bog in a pot. We will supply the ingredients for mixing soil, an ethically sourced native pitcher plant and a sundew plant. Participants must bring their own pot and saucer—pots should have drainage holes in the bottom and can be 8″ – 10″ in diameter. Limited to 15 participants.
