Garden Design with Natives: A Hands-On Workshop

Try your hand at designing a garden using native plants with Jason Goldman of Flower to the People. You’ll learn principles of both ecology and gardening that will guide your native plant selections and placement. You’ll gain a deeper understanding of how to create native plant landscapes that thrive in your garden’s cultural conditions. Under Jason’s guidance, this course will also include a hands-on workshop where everyone will design a NJ yard using native plants. Remember, no matter what conditions you have at home, there’s a native plant for every space!

Jason Goldman holds a BS in Ecology & Natural Resources from Rutgers University. His career has taken him from zookeeper, to apple farmer, to organic veggie grower, and ultimately to Park Naturalist, where he has the pleasure of sharing his enthusiasm for nature with people like you. Jason combines his decade of horticultural experience with his lifelong passion for the natural world in Flower to the People, a native plant garden design company he started in 2022.
