Four Years in the Life of a Pollinator Garden with Lucy Hooper

November 19, 2025 @ 7:00 pm 8:30 pm

The pollinator garden in Mickleton Park (Gloucester County), conceived through grants, was planted in spring of 2022 and has now been through 4 growing seasons. You will be taken on a tour through the years and seasons while introducing you to the ~60 native species which make up the garden and some of the wildlife that visits it.

Lucy has always been an avid gardener and has had a passion for native plants for 3 decades. She started a native meadow 30 years ago in her backyard starting each plant from seed. The native backyard meadow which includes forbs, grasses and shrubs is still thriving and evolving. Her experience with growing native plants was drawn upon when opportunities arose to start native plantings in a local park. Lucy is a member of the Southwest Chapter of the NPSNJ.
