Explore the Native Trees of Hudson County (Yuletide)
December 9, 2023 @ 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
Free, but registration is required
You might think “a tree is a tree” but the truth is that each species of tree has its own unique characteristics and interaction with its local environment.
This exciting program will feature walks with naturalist Cam Kanterman throughout Hudson County. Members will spend time outdoors recognizing and observing the native trees of New Jersey and the role they play in purifying the air, supporting biodiversity and providing sustainable habitat for wildlife and migratory birds. We will learn to identify tree species by bark, bud, and leaf. We will visit four different locations throughout the year and discuss how planting native trees in urban areas will help ensure wildlife can continue to thrive.
