Climate Anxiety Workshop: How to Cope with Rising Environmental Concern
January 18 @ 10:00 am – 12:00 pm

Are you concerned about the climate crisis and its effects on native plants and natural ecosystems? If so, you are not alone. The mental health impacts of the climate crisis (eco-anxiety, climate grief, and other climate feelings) are real and growing as more people are directly impacted by climate change, massive weather events, sea level rise, and other environmental changes. But there is hope: by deliberately addressing our climate distress, we can cultivate the resilience and empowerment needed to sustain us for the long haul.
In this workshop, Waterspirit will explain how the mental health impacts of the climate crisis can impact our lives. The Waterspirit team will teach strategies for coping with these feelings while avoiding burn-out and cultivating personal resilience. Participants will also have the opportunity to share their feelings in a supportive “climate café” session and generate ideas about how to turn their feelings into meaningful, sustainable action.
NOTE: We have reserved January 25 as a back-up in case of bad weather.
