Huber Woods Native Plant Gardens and the Scudder Preserve

July 25, 2022 @ 5:00 pm 7:00 pm

Don’t miss our next NPSNJ Monmouth Chapter members meeting on July 25! Nestled on a hill overlooking the Navesink River, Huber Woods boasts 390 acres of permanently preserved open space and several beautiful and functional native plant gardens, including a bog garden, a shade garden, and a pollinator garden. Naturalist Jason Goldman will be our guide for this part of the tour.

The Scudder Preserve is a predominately wooded 90-acre property contiguous to Huber Woods Park. It is managed by the Audubon Society and has been designated a nature preserve. The preserve contains native plant gardens, many large rhododendrons, azaleas, and large trees as well as a pond and stream. Our guide will be resident caretaker and naturalist Kristen Hock.
