Bus Trip to Stoneleigh: A Natural Garden

Join us for a wonderful day at Stoneleigh, a Natural Garden, in Villanova, PA. Stoneleigh Website Stoneleigh celebrates the beauty and importance of the natural world and inspires the cultivation of native plants for the benefit of all.  Stoneleigh enjoys a long history as a palette for notable landscape architects, including the sons of Frederick Law Olmstead. Stoneleigh’s magnificent trees represent more than 150 years of landscape design and careful stewardship. Today, the non-profit owner of Stoneleigh, Natural Lands, is converting this historic landscape to one that emphasizes beauty, biodiversity, native plants, and supporting local ecology. 

We will have time to explore the gardens on our own in the morning. After lunch, we’ll have a 90-minute guided tour of the core historic landscapes and main house, including the interior. The garden is very beautiful and contains open vistas, towering trees, native plant displays, and some exquisite historic hardscape elements.

The trip will go rain or shine so please dress for the weather. Please bring your own bag lunch. Our lunch break will be outdoors under a pavilion roof.  

The trip cost includes:

• Bus trip in a comfortable air-conditioned bus
• Snacks, cookies, and bottle of water
• A $20 donation per person in lieu of an admission charge, to help sustain the Stoneleigh mission
• Two-hour walking tour that includes a tour of the historic home
