A Beginner’s Look at Lichens
June 17 @ 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm
Presented by Pat Heaney, Assistant Director of Education at The Watershed Institute.
Lichens are fascinating life forms and widespread but under-appreciated. They are also beautiful — once you learn to see them and step close to take a closer look.
In this presentation, award-winning environmental educator Pat Heaney will show us how to identify some of the common varieties found in NJ and teach us about their structure, function and ecology.
This is a live event and Pat will be there to answer your questions and hear your thoughts. (Bring a hand lens or magnifying glass if you can.)
This meeting will be our last monthly gathering before our summer break and we hope to see you there.
Directions & Parking Tip: Our classroom (Room 260) is the same that we have had since September. See the campus map below. The closest parking spots are in Lots #4 and #5, which share the same entry off Vera King Farris Drive, the main drive on campus. Parking Lot #5 is made easy to spot by the mural of two ospreys on the Sports Center wall.
