4th Annual Social Event: Spring for Natives Groundhog Day Celebration

It’s almost Groundhog Day, when we officially start looking forward to spring planting. Let’s get together to celebrate the emergence of Punxsutawney Phil!
- Meet the “Above and Bee-yond” honorees for 2026
- See a native plant garden showcase of members’ gardens***
- Swap seeds for winter sowing
- Play games and win prizes
- Learn what NPSNJ has planned for 2026
- And lots more
Please bring a savory or sweet finger food to share. Wine and soft drinks will be provided. Friends and significant others are welcome!
If you collected seeds this fall, please bring some seeds to add to the seed swap.
***If you would like to show off your native plant garden, please send an email and up to 5 photos of your garden to sarahirisgalloway@gmail.com by December 15. All photos are welcome, but we would especially like entries for these catagories: Garden Art, Biodiversity, Cutest Critter, Insects, Landscapes, Special Plants and Flowers
Optional Fulfill Tool Donation:
We are collecting new garden tools to donate to the Fulfill Food Bank garden in Neptune, where volunteers grow organic food and native plants and their tools are perpetually dull and beaten up! If you would like to contribute, please bring a pair of new garden shears, snips, or scissors. Long-handled shovels/spades are also welcome.
